Heat shrink tubing provides a tight, protective covering to leads that may be subject to the extremes of heat, corrosion, shock, and moisture. Instead of standard approaches to insulation, such as taping the leads, the heat shrink tubing when heated shrinks to conform to the size and shape of the underlying leads, this extends the life of the underlying material.
