The E-flite Extra 330SC 3D 1.3m offers nearly unlimited aerobatic and 3D performance potential – even beyond that of the full-scale design! It's a replica of the airplane that Jim Bourke flies in airshows and competitions around the world, including his unique and highly visible trim scheme. It's also an updated and upgraded version of the Extra 300 3D 1.3m that features a larger hatch and opening with plastic edges to eliminate paint chipping when more easily installing/removing 3S or 4S 2200mAh to 3200mAh batteries. The strengthened motor mount better secures the brushless outrunner motor that's equipped with a lightweight wooden propeller to deliver outstanding thrust and vertical performance, along with extremely crisp throttle response thanks to the upgraded 85-amp Spektrum Avian Smart Lite ESC. Its fully molded EPO airframe is composite reinforced for an outstanding blend of rigidity and durability while also being as lightweight as possible. And the wire landing gear has been replaced with much stronger aluminum gear to make it even more durable! Plus, fast and precise factory-installed digital, metal-geared servos with ball-link equipped linkages drive the oversized control surfaces to deliver incredible 3D and precision flight capabilities. So whether you fly it mild to hone your sport or precision aerobatic flying skills or fly it wild to learn or perform the most aggressive 3D maneuvers, the Extra 330SC 3D 1.3m will offer unexpected levels of capability and performance you'll enjoy flight after flight.
Skill Level 2 – Some Experience Required
Skill Level 2 aircraft, like this one, are suitable for RC pilots who already have some experience and the skills to assemble, set up, and fly similar class models. And although this is one of the easiest to fly Extra models yet, it's not a suitable first-ever RC aircraft for new pilots or “next step after a trainer” model for low-time pilots. You should have the experience and skills necessary to successfully fly other aerobatic capable models like the E-flite T-28 Trojan 1.1m, Timber X 1.2m, Decathlon RJG 1.2m, Commander mPd 1.4m, or other similar models before attempting to fly the Extra 330SC 3D 1.3m.
Abundant Power
The included brushless power system features an 85-amp Smart Lite ESC and an outrunner motor equipped with a lightweight wooden propeller that deliver an abundance of scale-like power with 3S batteries, or unlimited vertical performance with 4S 2200–3200mAh batteries. Plus, the motor mount has been strengthened to better handle every power-on flight load possible.
Smart Technology
The exclusive Spektrum Avian Smart Lite ESC provides a variety of real-time power system-related telemetry data including overall battery voltage, current draw, motor RPM, and more – with both Smart and non-Smart batteries – via compatible receivers (including the AR631) and Spektrum AirWare equipped transmitters (including the DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/3 and 8 G2, the DX9, NX6 to 20, iX12 to 20 and others) while you fly.
Durable Precision
Construction with lightweight yet durable, composite-reinforced EPO material ensures the best possible flight performance while the factory-installed digital, metal-geared servos and ball-link equipped linkages deliver precise control of the oversized control surfaces whether you're performing sport, precision, or aggressive 3D aerobatic maneuvers.
Authentic Appearance
In addition to the scale outline, this replica is also appointed with a clear canopy and a detailed cockpit that features an instrument panel and a painted pilot figure. Plus the now more durable aluminum landing gear is equipped with fairings and wheel pants that add to the great looks and authentic scale appearance.
Jim Bourke Trim Scheme
Factory-finished in the unique and iconic trim scheme featured on the full-scale Extra 330SC that Jim Bourke – the creator of RCGroups.com and owner of Knife Edge Software that originally developed the RealFlight RC simulator – flies in airshows and competitions around the world.
