Free flight in modeling consist mainly of making a plane or glider fly without the possibility of controling it. Yet the finesse of the settings before the flight determine the flight path as well as the lenght and height reached.
Free flight aircraft can be pure gliders equiped with a rubber motor or gas powered engine only serving to bring the aircraft at height.
It can also be planes mostely equiped with rubber motor.
Officially there are competitions refered to as F1A, F1B & F1C.
