TAMIYA

The stand of Tamiya is without a doubt the largest stand in the hall which features model construction and the number of models is rather impressive, even if it's not only novelties.

The real Mercedes-Benz 3-axis Arocs 3363 was present at the stand, truly impressive and its replica on scale 1/14 seemed small next to it, even though it is a scale model with a nice size. The body is perfectly detailed thanks to the different pieces made in ABS and metal elements on the chassis. This includes side rails in aluminium and bearers in hard plastic. The engine is installed at the front and the power is transferred to 2 rear axles by a shaft and differentials help to take curves easily. A 4-channel Tamiya transmitter allows to change the gear.

"The Bigwig" is a great name and a great strength at Tamiya and the original model dated from 1986, when he was released to celebrate the 10 years of Tamiya RC ! The Bigwig is back with a chassis that closely resembles the original, but is improved to reach record performances. This 1/10 buggy has 4-wheel drive, independent suspension with double triangles and oil filled shock absorbers. 30 years later, the Bigwig remains a reference and has a GT-Tuned engine. It is a kit to be mounted, in limited edition. Length: 390 mm.

 

Other classic designed by Tamiya, the Grasshopper II already exists since 1988. The 2WD kit is to be mounted and the base is identical to the original model, with some improvements to make it up to date. Bathtub chassis and body in hard plastic, supplied with an engine format 380 and compatible with engines format 540. Length: 400 mm.

 

Certainly based on the former success, Tamiya Top-Force revived with a version 2017. This 4WD buggy at a scale of 1/10 is based on the model of 1991 and was already re-edited in 2005 and it is on this base that the model comes out in 2017. New tires, front and rear diffs with ball bearings and independent shock absorbers with double triangles give a irreproachable driving style. It is also a limited edition kit to be mounted. Length 400 mm.

 

The grasshopper is an ideal kit for beginners. The limited edition is equipped with a Candy Green body, which is very attractive. This 2WD buggy is to assemble and has an engine format 380. Length: 389 mm

 

The Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5-16 EVO II of the Zakspeed "Diebels Alt" Team is reproduced by Tamiya scale 1/10, on a TT-01 type E chassis. The green and gold machine of the German DTM Championship in 1992 is supplied with all the stickers to reproduce these special decorations. 4WD, to assemble kit, length 442 mm.

 

Tamiya has repoduced the second generation of the Mitsubishi Pajero and mounted it on a CC-01 chassis, 4WD, with front shock absorbers with double triangles and a fixed rear axle. This is also a limited edition, to assemble. Length: 450 mm.

 

Lovers of race trucks, Tamiya presents the MAN TGS with the colors of the Reiert Racing Team, on the base of a TT-01 Type E chassis, 4WD. The body consists of four ABS parts which reproduce the details faithfully. The model can be equipped with different Hop-Up options. It is possible to put illumination in the lights. Scale 1/14, length 438 mm.

We all remember the Heavy Dump Truck that was released last year. Tamiya presents it back in limited edition with a successful decoration and under the name Metal Dump Truck. The chassis is a GF-01, 4WD, with a centrally placed engine. Scale 1/24. Kit to assemble.

 

Here a limited edition "Chrome Metallic" of the famous buggy Racing Fighter 2WD, based on a DT-03 chassis. The body has a chrome finish and is already pre-cut. The CVA shock absorbers ensure a perfect road-holding on difficult terrain.

Still as a prototype, Tamiya presents the Subaru WRX STI, in the colors used during the 24 hours on the Nurburgring in 2016.
